World Tennis Day, which was established a year ago by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in honor of the 100th anniversary of this organization, was observed in Turkmenistan. Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan prepared interesting events for this day.

Within the framework of current event, the lessons of physical culture were devoted in all comprehensive schools to the training in skills of tennis playing.

In the capital, it was also held the tournament among veteran devotees on the tennis courts of sports tennis school and International Turkmen-Turkish University.

The first children’s tennis festival, which gathered tens of young tennis players at the age from 6 up to 12 years old from Ashgabat and Mary, became the culmination of the holiday. Sport grounds of one of the capital’s dwelling houses became the venue of its organization with a view of wide popularization of tennis among population and involvement the children into healthy life-style. All participants of the children’s festival received certificates and wonderful gifts. After official awarding ceremony, young fans of tennis were treated with 10-kilogram cake with the emblem of World Tennis Day.
