The royal society of protection of birds of Britain will take part in the research programs of local nature protection departments. The strategic course of the joint work will become a continuance of research and preparation of nomination data of Koytendagh and Badkhyz state nature reserves for their inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Nature Heritage. The provision of the memorandum of mutual understanding between the Nature Protection Ministry of Turkmenistan and RSPB for 2014-2017 signed recently in Ashgabat will make up the essence of the joint work.

For 2014 the detail research of natural objects of Koytendagh and Badkhyz including species of flora and fauna- relict and narrow local endemics of these places will be carried out. Yet in spring these places will be visited by expeditions of specialists of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan and its departmental divisions and RSPB with application of special equipment ,for example, camera, photo catcher for tracing of rare and nocturnal animals without presence of human , devices for determination of exact geographical coordinates of inhabitance of objects of biodiversity.

By the end of beginning of the next year, preparation of full folder of necessary documents which would include natural cards, description of biodiversity and wonderful landscapes, development of plans of management of these natural territories will be fully completed. After it the process of discussion of results and recommendations of the UNESCO and at the same time, search of new opportunities for cooperation will start.

Professor Eldar Rustamov, specialist –ornithologist, doctor of biological sciences told that «besides it the work of the country –based office of the Program “Key ornithological territories” is expected to continue its job in Ashgabat. It was established in 2005”. – within the framework of the planned work till 2017 preparation of national plans for protection of species marked in the red list of MSOP such as marhor, wild ass, black griffon, and leopard are highlighted. It means monitoring of their number and areas of inhabitance, realization of special measures for their protection. The example of such partnership may serve the past experience when regional plans for protection of saygak and white crane the movement of which stretches in Turkmenistan in accordance with the international agreement-convention of migrating species”.

The work will be carried out taking into account the regulations of laws of Turkmenistan on «special protected natural zones», «on wildlife», the third edition of the Red Book of Turkmenistan, recommendations of the UNESCO and new data on the composition of biodiversity if such would be found in the curse of field research work.

One of the current proposals from the side of the Ministry of Nature Protection of the country has become an opportunity to research jointly with RSPB zones of the Turkmen lake «Аltyn asyr» with a view of study of the given territory as a nomination for granting the international status within the framework of the Convention of water and swamp pastures possessing an international significance, mainly as the places for inhabitance of water birds. Such measure will also touch upon the natural potential of the nature park Ogurjaly of Khazar state natural reserve.
