Students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly brought six medals of different quality from the 8th International South-East European Mathematical Olympiad “SEEMOUS-2014”, which took place in Technical University named after George Asaki in Yassy, Rumania on March 5-9, 2014. This prestigious international contest gathered nearly 200 students in composition of 27 teams, representing various countries of the world.
In the course of Olympiad “SEEMOUS-2014”, four complicated tasks on different trends of mathematics were offered to students. According to the results of intellectual contest, the second-year student of the mathematics faculty of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly Gurtmyrat Motukov won gold medal in the individual event, the second-year students Palvan Agamyradov and Kerven Durdymyradov – silver medals, Serdar Khojayev, Khojamyrat Arazov and first-year student Ilshat Veliyev – bronze medals.
This success of the Turkmen students at the international intellectual arena is the natural result of reforms, being realized on development of national education sphere. Tens of new, super modern educational institutions, having the leading teaching technologies, were opened in the country. Numerous new facilities of education sphere – children’s preschool institutions and secondary comprehensive schools built both in administrative centers and remote villages are put into exploitation annually.
