Swimming Championship of Turkmenistan among juniors, who competed in 20 classical disciplines of this kind of sports, has completed in Olympic Water Sports Complex. Main purpose of the current competitions, where nearly 160 sportsmen from all provinces and Ashgabat took part in, is the preparation for II Summer Junior Olympic Games and Asian Games to be held correspondingly in August in China and in September in the Republic of Korea.
Most of the participants of four-day competitions are the prospective candidates for the national team, which has to contend in the Turkmen capital for awards of Asian Games-2017.
In the current nationwide tournament, candidate for master of sports M. Sariyeva was beyond comparison. According to effective rules, the girls are able to submit applications for participation in six sport disciplines. In five of them, she was able to gain high prizes. To date, M. Sariyeva is one of the major pretenders to a place in the national team.
Candidate for mater of sports V. Gorshkov leads in junior group of Turkmen swimmers not the first year. According to the regulations of competitions, he performed in the current championship in four disciples. He rose three times on “gold” step of podium and once became the vice-champion. At that, in the discipline 50 meters by freestyle, he was able to improve twice his personal best – first in preliminary race (26.25 seconds), and then in final (25.73 seconds).
Among other participants of the championship of Turkmenistan, E. Bekmyradova, A.Shapovalov and A. Mkrtchan received good references of the specialists. They also demonstrated high results and confidently pretend to the place in the national team.
In the team event, sportsmen from Ashgabat won a victory, having scored 1058 points. Masters of “water paths” from Mary, who gained the second place, gave over 800 points to leaders. Combined team of Lebap province closed the team three of prize-winners.
In these days, young swimmers of our country prepare for competitions within the framework of mass sport-physical, cultural and health-improving actions entitled “Health and happiness”, which will be held from April 1 to 30 in all parts of our country. In May, Olympic Water Sports Complex will become the venue of Swimming Championship of Turkmenistan.
