Turkmen delegation that included the specialists of the Ministry of Education and chancellors of five higher educational establishments – Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, International Oil and Gas University, Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi, Turkmen State Architectural Institute made a familiarization trip to France. Its purpose is the strengthening and further development of academic cooperation between higher educational establishments of two friendly countries.
This educational tour was organized on the invitation of the Embassy of Republic of France in Turkmenistan and “Campus France” – State information agency for promotion of higher education of France in abroad.
Having visited a series of high schools of Paris, the members of Turkmen delegation familiarized in detail with their activity. It was also carried on the negotiations with the officials of higher educational establishments located in other regions of France as well.
In these days, under the aegis of “Campus France”, it was held the Day of Central Asia. Besides Turkmen delegation, officials of the higher educational establishments of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as well as nearly thirty French universities became its participants.
Besides presentation, the Turkmen delegation presented their foreign colleagues the information about opening in Ashgabat in new academic year of the International University with teaching in foreign language as well as about annual organization in Turkmenistan of international exhibitions and conferences in the sphere of science and education.
According to the results of meeting, it was reached preliminary arrangement on signing of agreement on cooperation of the Turkmen and French higher educational establishments. Prospective partnership envisages exchange programs for students and for teaching staff, projects on raising the level of the teachers’ skill, improvement of educational programs and others.
Officials of tens of higher educational institutions of France, including National Institute of Eastern Languages and Culture of France, Institute of Political Science of Paris, French Institute of Oil, School of Architecture “Paris Malake”, Universities “De Poitiers”, “Orleans” and other higher schools showed great interest in continuation of dialogue and development of business partnership with Turkmenistan in education sphere.
