Turkmen master of martial arts have gained the regular success in the international tournament of traditional karate “Open Turkey-2014” held these days in Istanbul. The record of victories in sports of our country has been enriched with one silver and five bronze medals.
National teams from 38 countries-a total of about 2000 sportsmen representing various age groups have come to Turkey to participate in the tournament. In the course of several days participants of the international tournament its contestants competed for medals both in single bouts and in complex exercises.
The Turkmen sportsman Eziz Yangibayev who performed in the age group of 12-13 years olds won a silver medal. The bronze medal was won for our national team by Zokhre Jumabayeva in the age group of masters over 18. Among adults in the complex exercises “kata” bronze medals were awarded to Diyar Khojayev, Gurbanmyrat Glyjov and Begmyrat Japbarov. In the same age group in individual “kata” the third level of pedestal was given to Atabay Atabayev.
Other two bronze medals in single complex exercises were given to the chairman of the national traditional karate center of Turkmenistan Khangeldi Khojayev and chief coach of the national team Arazdurdy Elliyev who performed in the group of veterans of this type of martial arts.
