The month of mass sports, social and cultural activities under the motto "Health and Happiness" will start on April 1. Holding these large-scale activities each year in April will become a new tradition.
The action will begin with a mass marathon involving specialists of ministries and departments and students of higher educational institutions. The marathon on a long distance will be held on Kopetdag Avenue in the capital; the marathon in the administrative regions of the regions of the country will bring together representatives of labour collectives and youth.
The conference entitled "Health and Happiness" focusing on the opportunities provided by sport and its positive impact on human organism and multifaceted preventive activities will be held with the participation of representatives of the medical and sports communities at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry on April 1.
The activities will be held at the Kopetdag sports complex in the capital as well as sports centres, stadiums and sports schools in the administrative centres in the regions.
The activities, including student competitions in different sports and national tournaments, will be held to mark the launch of the action throughout the month. These are the Turkmenistan junior football championship, the next round of the Premier League Football Championship and the national championships in rowing and canoeing, motor sport and racing, basketball and volleyball, tennis, chess, cycling, water polo and swimming, etc.
The kaleidoscope of the April events include the competitions in national games, conferences, cultural and entertainment activities intended to involve a wide audience and sports games for children. Turkmen Horse Day with its attributes will add bright colours to the activities. The April landmark events also include the International Sports Exhibition "Ashgabat - the Capital of the 2017 Asian Games”, which take place at the Sergi Kosgi Exhibition Centre on April 3-5. The ceremony of closing the action "Health and Happiness" and awarding the winners of the V Sports Games under the slogan "Turkmenistan is the Country of High Spirit and Health" will be held at the National Motor Sport Centre.
