The fourth day of mass physical culture-sports and cultural-health actions under the motto “Health and happiness”, as three previous days is noted with a number of competitions. Yesterday the repeated Olympic champion on figure skating Irina Rodnina has participated in nationwide sports holiday which will continue during all April.
Legendary Russian figure skater visited the International exhibition “Ashgabat-Asian games capital-2017”, as well as presented a master-class on ice arena of the Sports complex on winter kinds of sport. Let’s note that this is already the fourth visit of the famous athlete in our capital, and each time she underlines that the level of development of Turkmen sports, including figure skating school becomes higher every year.
Irina Rodnina also added that she would be happy to see Turkmen figure skaters on yearly international festival on ice dancing which will take place on Russian capital on April 12. This festival, organized almost thirty years ago by the Olympic champion, in the first place, is called on to reveal young sports talents. The Turkmen team planning to appear on this prestigious competition, prepared a program, and today its first running-in has taken place in the Sports complex on winter kinds of sport.
Meanwhile in the southern outskirts of Ashgabat the third round of the championship of Turkmenistan on cycle racing has taken place. Participants of competitions – representatives of combined teams of Ashgabat, Lebap and Dashoguz velayats defined the fastest one on 120 km group racing.
Today the capital sports complex “Galkynysh” has become the venue of Ashgabat championship on fencing among men and women. The competitors contested for medals in two disciplines with swords and sabers.
On 5th of April, two national tournaments on belt wrestle start: in School on preparing of young Olympians the masters of the Turkmen goresh will compete, and in sports school #4 of the Lebap velayat administrative center the best kurashist will be defined.
