In scientific-research institute of cotton growing in Yoloten town the activities on development of drip irrigation method of cotton is carried out. New method for the Murgap valley has already passed yearly approbation on experimental fields of the SRI. In present season the drip irrigation installation will be applied beginning from May 25. By that time all seasonal works connected with application of various agricultural technology and attached implements will be completed on cotton crop area. And already beginning from June 3rd the first watering will be started. Drip irrigation installation will continue its work approximately until August 20, practically till full ripening of crop elements.


Results of first year of works are encouraging. During this period there were consumed 3500 cubic meters of water on six hectare field. At the same time there were consumed 5 thousand cubic meters of water in control field by traditional - furrow irrigation. Economy of moisture on experimental field has constituted one and a half thousand cubic meters of water. Moreover, the crop capacity on the field with drip irrigation constituted on the average ten centners more per hectare in comparison with control field.
