The International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding held the IV meeting in Ashgabat. The forum brought together participants from the countries of Asia, Europe, North and South America, including our guests from Argentina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Mongolia, Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, the United States, Turkey, Uruguay, Germany, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden and Estonia.
The Association was founded in August 2010 on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Its main objective is to preserve breed purity and enhance international fame of Ahalteke horses – the national heritage of the Turkmen people – and their invaluable contribution to the treasury of human values and unite the associations of Ahalteke horse breeding in foreign countries. The International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding aims its activities at promoting effective cooperation and mutually beneficial exchange of experiences between horse breeding experts and popularizing the ‘heavenly’ horses worldwide to preserve the significance of the Ahalteke breed as a phenomenon of world culture.
The meeting agenda focused on the work done by the Association, the aspects of its activities and the plans for long-term cooperation.
The reports presented at the meeting confirmed the everlasting and ever-growing interest in the legendary Ahalteke horses, the expertise and achievements of Turkmen horse breeders in different countries of the world.
The forum participants noted that large-scale work on the preservation of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen nation, an integral part of which are Ahalteke horses, promotion of horse industry and equestrian sport, modernization of infrastructure and enhancement of international cooperation in this field conducted in our country impressed them greatly.
Summing up the forum, the participants expressed belief that this meeting would contribute to fruitful cooperation and exchange of experiences in Ahalteke horse breeding and enhance worldwide fame of the ‘heavenly’ horses of unsurpassed beauty, grace and swiftness.
