The Turkmen-croatian business forum was held in Ashgabat within the framework of the state visit of President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipovic to Turkmenistan. The leader of the friendly state participated in the forum.
Among the forum participants were businessmen, members of the government delegation of the Republic of Croatia, the heads of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Uljanik large shipyard, and other companies specializing in the sphere of ship building, road construction and design, production of construction materials, metalwork, electric trains, and electric power equipment as well as in healthcare, high technologies, construction and equipping of sports facilities, consulting, etc.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, the Ministries of Rail and Road Transports, specialists of the oil and gas industry and mineral resources, healthcare and medical industries represented Turkmenistan at the forum. Specialists of the State Committee for Sport and the State Committee for Tourism, Turkmenavtoyollary State Service, Maritime and River Transport State Service, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange and newly established Institute for the Study of Trade Turnover of Turkmenistan,as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Academy of Sciences of our country participated in the forum.
The colorful exposition showcasing the national jeweler's art, silk and wool hand-made carpets, souvenirs, modern Turkmen textile goods as well as publications was arranged in the foyer in the Mizan Business Centre.
The President of the Republic of Croatia visited the exposition and demonstrated keen interest in the books by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The exhibition anticipated the work of the business meeting that brought together over a hundred participants, including representatives of the government structures and top managers of more than thirty Croatian companies.
During the forum opening ceremony it was noted that this meeting was a logical continuation of the top level talks between Turkmenistan and Croatia.
Greeting the forum participants, President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipovic expressed satisfaction with the top level talks in Ashgabat and underlined that they laid the solid foundation for bilateral cooperation at the new level.
Then the video clip telling about the achievements of the economic, export and investment policy of our state as well as the plans for development of the key industries of the national economy and the opportunities in the sphere of investments, about grandiose international projects, etc. was demonstrated to the forum participants.
Forum participants emphasized on the wide area for the efficient international cooperation and put forward a number of initiatives on enhancing it. Forum participants also focused on cooperation in the sphere of transport, including modernization and widening the Turkmen fleet.
Representatives of ministries and departments, state and private companies took part in bilateral meetings taken place within the framework of the forum held in the business and constructive atmosphere. Meeting participants established new contacts, discussed the prospects for cooperation and specified the plans for further cooperation.
