The final events of the mass sports, health promotion and cultural actions held under the motto Health and Happiness throughout the country on April 1-30 finished the sport campaign. through April took place in all towns and settlements of our country. High-ranking officials, including cabinet ministers of Turkmenistan, participated in the events at the central arena of the Ashgabat multifunctional sports complex.

The heads of ministries and departments, public organisations, rectors of higher educational institutions, editors of newspapers and journals and deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan gathered together early in the morning to do warm-up exercises under the open sky. Then the participants of the sports event split into teams to compete in volleyball, basketball, football, tennis, track and field athletics, bowling and other tournaments and at the gym.


The ceremony of closing of the sport campaign held under the motto Health and Happiness took place in the festively decorated stage of the amphitheatre in the Park of Independence. Thousands of citizens of Ashgabat and guests to the Turkmen capital gathered together there to enjoy the colourful festive show performed by sportsmen, popular singers and dance groups.

The ceremony of awarding the winners and laureates of the V National Sports Games held under the motto “Turkmenistan is the Country of High Spirit and Health!” was arranged within the framework of the ceremony of closing the April sport campaign.


The final day of the mass sports, health promotion and cultural actions held under the motto Health and Happiness was also marked with the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Taekwondo National Championship (ITF) among juniors and adults held in Mary Velayat on April 29-30.

Turkmen athletes will prepare for the World Championship to be held in the capital of Tajikistan - Dushanbe in August.
