Nowadays, in Budapest, the capital of Hungary the traditional international rating tournament «First Saturday» is held with participation of hundreds of sportsmen from tens of countries. A round before competition of the competition immediately several Turkmen chess players claim for medals. So, today in the group of international masters and grand masters the honoured coach of Turkmenistan Orazly Annageldiyev takes second place having 7,5 scores of 10 possible scores and Saparmyrat Atabayev takes fourth place with 6,5 scores.
In the group of masters of the FIDE in the list of leaders are also two Turkmen chess players –in second place Gurbangeldi Amangeldiyev (7,5 scores) and in third place Hurma Veliyeva (7 scores). The final results will be made on May 14.
Our sportsmen have already demonstrated their excellence in this international tournament in the discipline Rapid where for one game 15 minutes are given with an additional 2 seconds after each move: international masters, bothers Maksat and Yusup Atabayev have secured gold and bronze medals relatively for Turkmenistan.
In the sports school of chess of the city sports committee in Ashgabat two championships of Turkmenistan in chess among boys and girls of the age groups from 10 to 14 years with the best players of this intellectual game from all regions of the country and capital city have been held. Winners of championships of Turkmenistan will prepare for large international competitions. In the following month world chess championship among school children from 7 to 17 years old will be held in Greece.
In July, Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan will host the Asian championship of juniors where our national team will also represent our country.
