Performances of the Turkmen sportsmen in international level competitions continue to please with results. As it was already informed, on May 18th our compatriot Perman Ishanov became the winner of the shotakan-karate tournament “The Caspian Cup” (Baku, Azerbaijan) in 14-15 years age group, weight category up to 70 kgs. To this high result Turkmenistan residents have added two more awards, won in men group and in group of veterans.
Amangeldy Byashimov who has risen on the third step of the podium in over 67 kg weight category became the bronze prize-winner in men group as a member of our team. One more "bronze" in a prize box of sport achievements of Turkmenistan was brought by Zakirbek Yuldashev who performed in sportsmen-veterans group of 35-44 age.
Also these days in capital of Azerbaijan one more international tournament - on boxing on which the representative of our country has won a gold medal took place. Competitions have taken place in "Olympic" sports complex where about 200 participants from more than 10 countries have gathered. Muhammed Berdybaev acting in youth age group, 57 kgs weight category became the winner in the composition of the Turkmen team.
Among the national tournaments which have taken place these days in capital sports complexes, it is necessary to note the first stage of Turkmenistan championship on handball among young men and girls with participation of teams from all provinces and Ashkhabad.
During the proceeding football championship of Turkmenistan among major league clubs the next matches have taken place. In Turkmenabat the local "Bagtyyarlyk-Lebap" played with "Shagadam" from Turkmenbashi. As a result the visitors have won with a large score 6:0 and rose on the second line in draw, having reduced the backlog from leader - capital “Altyn Asyr” to 5 points. Now the national football team of Turkmenistan has departed to Maldives where Challenge Cup tournament of the Asian football confederation takes place.
On May, 21st in Ashkhabad the second stage of the basketball championship of Turkmenistan among men starts with participation of teams from all regions of the country. Competitions will take place in a physical-health improving complex of the Turkmen National institute of world languages named after D.Azadi.
At specialized sports school №2 of the administrative centre of Lebap province the free-style wrestling championship of Turkmenistan will take place on May 22-24th, in which hundreds of followers of this sport from all corners of the country will take part.
