Group of Turkmen sportsmen returned from international team practice sessions on sport gymnastics held during two weeks in Shymkent (Republic of Kazakhstan). Besides theoretical and practical trainings, our compatriots took part in the competitions held there and won 4 medals – two gold, a silver and a bronze.
Residents of Turkmenistan performed in two normative groups – masters of sport and candidates for masters – and in both cases, remained no chances for victory. Moreover, in group of candidates for masters of sport, the Turkmen sportsmen took whole podium. Lubov Tzarkova raised the highest step, Kira Lazarchik – on the second place and Sadap Berdiyeva won bronze medal.
In group of masters of sport, gold medal was gained by Maysa Kuliyeva.
After return from Kazakhstan, our athletes proceeded to the preparation for upcoming international competitions, for example, for traditional Cup Tournament “Bosphoros” to be held in August in Republic of Turkey.
Major sport event for gymnasts in the current year will be held in December in Qatar, where a regular international Congress of Asian Gymnastics Union will be held. Representatives of Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan will take part in it. In the course of Congress, it will be elected new composition of Asian Sport Union as well as outlined plans of further development of gymnastics in the countries of our continent.
