Turkmen chess player Byagul Ezizova achieved a double victory at the Open International Chess Tournament in the Republic of Turkey. Our chess player demonstrated the best results in the classical and unrated events in U-9 age group.

Over 70 young chess players from different countries competed for the medals in this age group. In the six-round tournament held under the Swiss system, the young Turkmen athlete achieved the best score - five points. According to the results of the competitions, a special Cup and medals were awarded to Byagul Ezizova.

It should be noted that last year our chess player coached by Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan Serdar Annaberdiev won the gold medal in the U-7 age group of the World Championship among school children.

The double victory in Turkey has become a wonderful gift for the citizens of Turkmenistan as well as for Byagul Ezizova, who recently celebrated her eighth birthday.

Byagul’s brother - 11-year-old Muhammed Ezizov also took part in the competition and ranked the sixth among the top six chess pliers of the tournament.

At present, young chess players of the national team are preparing for the World Youth Championship to be held in Durban (South-African Republic) in September.
