Turkmen sportsmen gained a big success at the Asian Universal Combat Championship in the capital of Tajikistan – Dushanbe. Our wrestlers won a silver and two bronze medals.
Over 100 masters from 12 countries – Syria, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and others took part in the continental contests.
Dovlet Bashimov won “silver” in weight category up to 75 kilograms. He performed in three single combats. In the first, he confidently won a victory over Syrian wrestler, in the second – remained no chances to sportsman from Iran for victory and in the decisive fight – was worse than champion of Asia from Tajikistan in scores.
Hojaly Seyitliyev also had such strong rivals (up to 65 kg), who competed in the semifinal with repeated champion of the world, resident of Tajikistan B. Karimov and won the bronze medal.
Another bronze award was gained by Guljemal Chariyeva in the category up to 52 kg.
It is worth mentioning the attainment of main coach of our national team, Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Orif Buharkov, who served Asian Championship in Dushanbe as the referee. He was awarded with relevant diploma at the closing ceremony of the championship.
