An aerial tramway will run from the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains to the Turkmenistan Broadcasting Centre. This cableway and necessary infrastructure facilities, including lighting systems, observation areas and restaurants are to be built in the vicinities of Ashgabat.

The State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports, during the recent government meeting President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov authorized to conduct the international tender for the aerial tramway project. The project objectives are to create the favourable recreation conditions and render high quality services to citizens.

The second project stage provides for the construction of the aerial tramway will be built from the Broadcasting Centre farther along the mountain slopes and a skiing track with the artificial ice cover. In the winter the snow cover lies high up in the mountains for a long time.

The implementation of the project will provide citizens and guests of Ashgabat to see the amenities of the Turkmen mountains, do winter sports as well as enable to implement the touristm potential of our country.
