In the days of summer holidays, numerous competitions are held all over the country with participation of young sportsmen. So, Martial Wushu Championship of Turkmenistan was held in new sports complex of Mary-SDPS among boys and girls of four age groups; in “Nebitchi” children’s health center (CHC) of the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan in picturesque place Gokdere, it was held the sport festival under motto “Ashgabat – the capital of Asian Games-2017”, and Ashgabat chess sports school of the city Sport Committee became the place for holding of three chess tournaments with participation of the representatives of young generation of Turkmen residents.
Nearly 200 our compatriots – successors of one of the most ancient arts of the Eastern single combat – wushu arrived in Mary-SDPS from all parts of Turkmenistan. But, the representatives of Mary region as the hosts of competitions had the advantage, having presented three teams. The current contests became one of the last stages of preparation for the second World Youth Olympic Games to be held in the Chinese city Nanking.
One of vouchers to World Games was gained by Dashoguz athlete Merjen Saparova, who proved again her superiority, having become the winner of current championship in age group of 1998-1999 in weight class up to 52 km.
Among other decisive duels, it is worth mentioning the final of age group under 12 years old in weight class up to 28 kg, where the twin brothers Yusup and Akhmet Paltayevs from Mary team have met. In this fight, both sportsmen were the winners – Yusup became the winner of the competition and Akhmet won special prize “For the best technique”. By the way, elder brother of twins – Mekan Paltayev also raised the highest step of podium in age group of 2000-2001 and in weight class up to 56 kg.
In the team event, the first place was gained by hosts of the competitions, which won 9 prize places. They are followed by Dashoguz athletes with 5 gold medals. Team of Ashgabat – 4 victories closed the top three prize-winners.
Over 500 representatives from 14 children’s health-recreation centers erected in picturesque place at Kopetdag foothills took part in children’s sport festival in Gokdere organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Youth Physical and Sport Organization “Turkmenistan”, Archabil etrap municipality of Ashgabat and Youth Organization named after Magtymguly.
Representatives of various sport sections of Ashgabat are invited to the improvised stage. Successors of martial arts, sport gymnastics and others demonstrated their mastery.
After that, it was started main action. Participants of the festival showed a lot of fantasy to surprise the jury with originality and complexity of their sport compositions.
The first place was gained by combined team of “Altyn Merjen” CHC of the Ministry of Water Economy. Team of hosts of the festival – “Nebitchi” is on the second place and the top three was closed by the representatives of “Demiryolchi” Children’s Health-recreation Center of the Ministry of Railroad Transport.
On July 11, sport events among children, having a rest in the Health Centers of Gokdere will be continued with contests on intellectual kinds of sports – chess, draughts and national game “duzzum”.
Concerning Ashgabat Chess Tournaments, it is noteworthy that each of them became one of the stages of preparation not only for the large international competitions to be held in autumn (World Chess Olympics and others), but also for V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts.
Competitions were held in accordance with Swiss system in 11 rounds. Participants were not divided into categories. They performed in one combined group (girls and boys).
In the youngest group of participants born in 2002-2005, Danil Vertyanov, who accumulated 9.5 points from possible 11, won confident victory. In the tournament among juniors under 16 years old, Mengli Ovezova took the first place. 7.5 points became enough for her to win this contest. In the group of candidates for masters of sport, Khajikurban Dovletov raised the highest step of podium. He had no defeats, and only in one fight, he played drawn game – 10.5 points. Winners and prize-winners were awarded with valuable gifts.
In the second half of July, the Junior and Adult Combined Teams of Turkmenistan on chess will participate in the large international tournament to be held in the capital of Russia – Moscow. After that, our sportsmen have to prepare seriously for World Chess Olympics, which will be held in September in Norwegian city Tromsø.
