Turkmenistan Economy Day in France that will provide a platform for the exhibition of the achievements of Turkmen economy will be held in Paris on July 11.
The event organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development of the French Republic jointly with France-Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce will bring together the participants representing government agencies and key departments of the two countries, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the major French companies. Bilateral meetings and consultations will be held in the framework of the forum. In addition to the business programme, Turkmen artists will present performances to the French audience.
The event is intended to give strong incentives for cooperation between Turkmenistan and France in the trade, economic and investment sectors and contribute to building an information platform to bring bilateral business relations up to a new level.
Brongniart Palace that housed the Paris stock exchange in the early 19th century is chosen as the venue for Turkmenistan Economy Day. The building was named in an honour of an architect Alexandre-Theodore Brongniart, who designed the palace at the request of Napoleon.
As is known, the prospects of cooperation were considered during the visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to France in February 2010. The government talks resulted in signing the important agreements that boosted partnership in bilateral format as well as within Turkmenistan-European Union dialogue. The establishment of Turkmenistan-France Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation was a critical step in this context.
The business forum, which took place with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his visit to France, showed great interest of France’s business circles in the promising Turkmen market. The forum brought together top managers and specialists of dozens of the major French companies which rank as the leaders on the European and world markets.
Turkmen-French meetings held at various levels since then spotlighted the readiness of our countries to foster cooperation in various fields and increase mutual trade.
