The ceremony of awarding 1 and 2 dan black belts to more than 20 Turkmen athletes on behalf of the Taekwondo International Federation took place at the Galkynysh Sports Complex. Within the framework of the ceremony, members of the national team of Turkmenistan performed an exhibition programme that included complex exercises (tuli). Turkmen sportsmen will perform this programme at the World Championship in Dushanbe on August 3-11.



Over thousands of sportsmen from dozens of countries, including Turkmenistan will take part in the Championship.

For the first time in the ITF Taekwondo tournament, Turkmenistan will be represented by a sportswoman - Champion of Turkmenistan M. Agaeva. She will compete for the medals in individual events in the under 46-kg weighting category as well as in complex events.


It should be noted that our sportsmen won 15 medals, including two gold medals, seven silver medals, and six bronze medals at the Asian Championship in the capital of Nepal - Kathmandu.
