According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, 25,182 university entrants submitted their applications to 19 higher educational institutions in the country. Many of them are the winners of prestigious national and international contests and school contests.
This year, 6,861 young people will be admitted to the institutions of higher education for the 2013-2014 academic year that is 761 students more than in the previous year.
This year, many higher educational institutions have increased their admission quota, and 11 new specialities have been introduced into curriculum of the institutions of higher education in Turkmenistan.
The International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development, which will provide education in the English language on a paid basis, will open its doors for students for the first time. There are 14 specialties in the University.
At the requests of ministries and departments, core institutions, enterprises and organisations, 7,716 students are to be admitted to vocational schools in the new academic year that is 1,194 students more than in the previous year. Over 13,000 entrants submitted their documents to the vocational schools. 30,000 students are to be admitted to the primary vocational schools. The entrance exams will start on July 29.
The course of exams held in auditoriums will be broadcast at the screens installed in corridors in higher educational institutions.
The entrance examinations to higher educational institutions and vocational schools in our country will last till August 20.
