Two bronze medals of the 45th International Physics Olympiad, which brought together about 300 schoolchildren from over 70 countries of the world in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, were added to the intellectual ‘receptacle’ of our country. The holders of the prestigious medals are the schoolboys from Ashgabat Dovran Amanov and Omargeldy Atanov.

Another group of Turkmen schoolchildren has participated recently in the international intellectual competitions, representing our country at the 25th International Biology Olympiad, which was held in Bali, Indonesia.

In general, the team of the young Turkmen biologists successfully performed in the contest, though they won no medals and awards. Two points separated our schoolchildren from a victory. This year’s Olympiad in Indonesia is noteworthy for the fact that the international jury of the intellectual contest was composed of schoolchildren.

Our country in the international jury was represented by Gurbangeldy Gurbangeldyev, an eleventh form schoolboy of the state boarding school for gifted children. This honourable right was given to Gurbangeldy for his outstanding scientific and intellectual achievements. He won the special prize for the special relevance of the project in the nomination “Environment. Biology” of the 1st International Natural Science Projects Olympiad, which was held in Jakarta last year.
