The sports schools in Murghab and Mary Etrap in the south-eastern region of the country, where the tournaments in freestyle wrestling, Taekwondo (WTF) and other sports took place, picked up the baton of sporting events. The water polo, gymnastics and kickboxing tournaments were held in the administrative centre of the region.
The water polo competitions were held to mark the 61st anniversary of the water sports school in Mary town. The competitions were an important step in preparation for the Turkmenistan water polo championship, which will be held in the Turkmen capital this September.
The sports school in Mary town hosted the open kickboxing championship, which brought together about 50 athletes. The hosts of the tournament, who took the first places in all the weight categories, showed that they had prepared for bouts better than their opponents.
