Among them, it is worth mentioning the Open Universal Combat Championship of Turkmenbashi city. This contest became one of important stages of preparation for the World Championship to be held in November in the Russian city – Medyn.
Nearly hundred of the best sportsmen from Ashgabat, Mary and Balkan provinces took part in the competitions. Athletes of the western region of the country raised the highest step of podium nine times that provided them the first place in team event.
In the last weekends, it was also started the open handball championship of Turkmenbashi city. Here, it was also organized a seminar and team practice session of successors of kokushinkai –karate.
Over 150 best young representatives of Greco-roman wrestling from all regions of our country have met in spacious hall of “Hazar” Sports Center. Traditional contests entitled “Caspian meetings”, which annually gather in seaside city two junior adult groups from 13 to 15 years old, were held here.
According to the results of duels, five first places were gained by young wrestlers from Dashoguz province, 4 victories belong to the team of Ashgabat, Lebap and Balkan regions and the successors of Greco-roman wrestling from Murgap valley rose three times on the highest step of podium.
At present, male national team actively prepares for the World Championship to be held in September in the capital of Uzbekistan – Tashkent.
