Celebration in honor of Turkmen students – winners of the 21st International Mathematics Olympiad held from July 29 to August 4 in Blagoevgrad (Republic of Bulgaria) was held at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.
Turkmen students worthily represented our country in this intellectual contest. It is worth mentioning that 324 students from 36 world countries took part in the Olympiad.
Olympiad was held in two stages in the form of personal championship and included different kinds of complicated mathematical sums. As this result, the first- and second-year students of mathematics faculty of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly P. Agamyradov and R. Hajiyev won the silver medals. Moreover, the second-year students of the same faculty K. Durdymyradov and G. Motukov, the first-year student of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan T. Gurbanov as well as the first-year student of Dashoguz secondary professional financial and economic school S. Haidov won bronze medals.
Successful performance of the representatives of Turkmen student youth at this prestigious international Olympiad is the result of successive realization of progressive reforms in the sphere of education. Within the last years, the Turkmen students take an active part in the subject intellectual contests, being held at the international level, and regularly win the prize places.
