The ceremony of closing the IX Specialized Commodities Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran took place at the Sergi Köşgi Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat. Over 120 leading companies and enterprises representing regional production and technological centres of the Islamic Republic of Iran participated in the three-day forum.

Numerous producers and suppliers of state-of-the-art construction materials and equipment, machines and engines, vehicles and spare parts, production of mining and chemical industries, home appliances, industrial textiles, food products, etc. showcased their achievements and economic potential at the exhibition.

According to Iranian partners and their Turkmen colleagues, the exhibition will significantly contribute to the further development of the bilateral cooperation. Heads of various industries of the national economy of our country, hundreds of specialists, as well as numerous citizens of Ashgabat and guests to the Turkmen capital visited the exposition. The forum was of particular interest for Turkmen businessmen, who had an chance to learn more about the economic potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and opportunities for developing mutually beneficial partnership in a number of areas, in particular construction, production of construction materials, agriculture, etc.

The Turkmen-Iranian business forum vividly demonstrated the aspiration of IRI businessmen in widening the trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan.

The forum agenda included the issues of further development of the bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as determination of important areas of partnership at present time.

Government officials, specialists of sectoral ministries and departments, the Academy of Sciences, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs represented Turkmenistan at the forum.

The IRI delegation led by Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Science and Technology, Chairman of the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents Mr. Suren Sattar, included heads of ministries of industry and mines, trade, the Science and Technology Park of the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as heads of departments and companies specializing in the oil, gas and energy sectors, chemical industry, textile industry, telecommunications, design and construction, trade, banking and finance, healthcare and medicine, as well as in the field of scientific and technological research and innovations.

A film about the economic potential of Turkmenistan and Iran was demonstrated during the meeting. It was noted that organization of the exhibition and business forum vividly testified to the adherence of the both countries to constructive cooperation in the interests of the friendly neighbouring peoples.

Numerous meetings and talks between the Turkmen and Iranian businessmen, experts, economists, specialists in marketing and trade agents took place within the framework of the three-day forum.
