Our sportsmen successfully performed at two large international competitions - the Junior Belt-Wrestling World Championship in Ulyanovsk, Russia, and the World Mind Sports Games in London, Great Britain. In total, our sportsmen won 17 medals, including six gold medals, seven silver medals, and four bronze medals.


The national team of Turkmenistan demonstrated a best result in the in the Junior Belt-Wrestling World Championship having won nine medals - three medals of each dignity.

Hangeldy Allakov (under 68-kg weighting category), Pirguly Kurbandurdiev (under 75-kg weighting category), and Lachin Badaglyeva (under 75-kg weighting category) achieved the best results.

… Success of Turkmen chess players at London Mind Sports Games has become a good tradition. This year, sportsmen from 45 countries competed in the 18th World Mind Sports Games. Turkmen chess-players won three gold medals, four silver medals, and one bronze medal.

Master of Sports from Turkmenistan Shanepes Meredov demonstrated the best results - two gold medals, and two silver medals.
