Now, Turkmenistan gained the first international attainment in the contests on kabaddi. Team of Patna of the Indian province Bihar, where on the invitation, our compatriot Dovlet Bashimov performed, won the third place at the Championship of professional league kabaddi of this country.

Speaking about the Championship of professional league kabaddi, it is worth mentioning that annually, it hosts the best sportsmen from all over the world. In the current year, sportsman from Turkmenistan Dovlet Bashimov also first participated in the competitions. According to the lot, together with our compatriot, the combined team of Patna also included the legionaries from Republic of Korea and Pakistan.

In all, eight teams, which competed on round robin in 2 stages, took part in the championship. From 14 meetings, the combined team of Patna won 7 victories and made a draw twice that provided it the third place and bronze awards.

The athlete of honored coach of Turkmenistan Orif Bukharakov was the youngest participant of the Championship of professional league – he is 18 years old. But his age couldn’t prevent D. Bashimov to demonstrate his best sport qualities contributed to the high result of his team.

Besides, kabaddi D. Bashimov professionally trains in martial arts. He has high achievements in the contests on universal combat, including on the international arena. So, at the Asian Championship held in June in the capital of Tajikistan – Dushanbe, he won the silver medal in weight class up to 75 kg. At present, D. Bashimov prepares for national contests on these kinds of sport to be held in autumn.
