A joint workshop on Strategic Planning for the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for 2016-2020 started its work in the conference hall of Yldyz Hotel in the capital of Turkmenistan. The agenda focuses on the work done and the action plans and key spheres for long-term cooperation.
The heads and specialists of the representative offices of the major UN agencies in Ashgabat, including UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR, WHO and others, and their partners representing a number of sector ministries and departments of Turkmenistan participated in the meeting. The officials of diplomatic representations and missions accredited in Turkmenistan and a number of international organisations and institutions attended the forum.
The meeting participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to various aspects of cooperation in the context of the implementation of joint programmes and projects in 2016-2020.
The workshop provided a platform for developing specific recommendations and proposals to improve the mechanism for Turkmenistan-UN partnership in line with the nation development priorities.
