Turkmen athletes won two bronze medals on the fourth day of the XVII Asian Games in Incheon, Republic of Korea. Saleheddin Bayramov and Jennet Aynazarova took the third places in the Wushu sanda events.
S. Bayramov gained two victories but couldn’t defeat an experienced wrestler from Kazakhstan in the semifinal, and won the third place.
Jennet Aynazarova applied every effort to achieve the success, and won the bronze medal. According to sports reviews, the promising Turkmen athlete has all chances to win first places in future.
This is the first significant success of the Wushu school of Turkmenistan on the international arena. The victory gained by our compatriot – Jennet Aynazarova will serve as a good example for young Turkmen athletes, who practice one of the most ancient kinds of the single combats, and who will represent our country at large international events, including the Asian Games.
Another our compatriot – weightlifter Redjepbay Redjepov lifted 345 kilograms (160 kilograms in jerk, and 185 kilograms in snatch) and took the fourth place in the under 77-kg weighting category.
As was reported, Turkmen weightlifter, participant of the Olympic Games Umurbek Bazarbaev also took the fourth place in the under 62-kg weighting category.
Turkmen sportsmen haven’t finished their participation at the Asian Games in Incheon and have all the chances to win more medals of various dignities. Inoyat Jumaev (under 85-kg weighting category), Jasur Jumaev (under 94-kg weighting category), and Hojamuhammed Toychiev (over 105-kg weighting category) will appear on the arena of the Asian Games on September 24-26.
