Another Turkmen sportsman was in the top five of the strongest weightlifters of Asia at XVII Asian Games, being held in the Korean city Inchon. This success was gained by master of sports of international class Hojamuhammed Toichiyev, who performed in weight class over 105 kilograms.

But Turkmen supporters were glad not only for this, certainly, not bad result, because Turkmen sportsman established three records of Turkmenistan – in spurt (189 kg), in jerk (226 kg) and in sum of snatch (415 kg).


According to preliminary results of performances of the Turkmen weightlifters in the current Games in Inchon, the national team of our country will be in the top eight of the strongest teams of XVII Asian Games of 43 participating states. Among personal attainments of our weightlifters, it is worth mentioning two fourth places – Umurbek Bazarbayev (up to 62 kg) and Rejepbai Rejepov (up to 77 kg). At that, the second of them also established in his weight class three national records - in spurt (160 kg), in jerk (185 kg) and in sum of snatch (345 kg). It is also noteworthy two fifth places: one of them is that, which became known today, and the second, which was attained a day before – Jasurbek Jumayev (up to 94kg).
