The International Exhibition and Conference on Tourism and Travel opened in the Avaza national tourism zone. This year it is the second time that the forum is being held on Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea to mark World Tourism Day, bringing together experts from many countries interested in establishing and promoting close contacts in this sector of Turkmen economy.
The keen interest of foreign investors, experts in the global market of tourist services and their major suppliers in the tourism potential of Turkmenistan, including the ambitious project of the Avaza national tourism zone, is illustrated by their impressive representation at the forum organized by the State Committee for Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Top managers and specialists of Turkmen travel agencies, higher educational institutions and representatives of dozens of companies from over 20 countries, including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Japan, China, Egypt, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, among others, participate arranged their expositions in Avaza.
The major theme of the forum was the development of Turkmenistan’s tourism sector as a new promising sphere attracting travellers from all over the world.
The exhibition arranged at Seirana Hotel showcased the tremendous prospects for promoting international cooperation based on the potential of Turkmenistan's tourism sector.
In the afternoon, the conference brought together specialists of a number of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and international and foreign organisations, including the World Tourism Organization and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), in the conference hall of Seirana Hotel.
Turkmen specialists made the reports and presentations during the plenary meeting that briefed the conference participants on the major aspects of the strategy designed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and key priorities of the innovative development of Turkmenistan's tourism industry and its foundations presented by the rich variety of cultural and natural heritage.
Foreign participants covered a wide range of issues in their reports: from collaboration within the World Tourism Organization to cooperation in vocational education.
An exchange of views gave the forum participants an opportunity to present the current approaches to the development of the tourism industry and successful practices and to consider the most remarkable examples of partnership between Turkmenistan and foreign companies in this industry.
