Turkmenistan-Germany: partnership in the health care sphere

The IV Turkmen-German Health Care Forum started its work at the Yyldyz Hotel in the Turkmen capital. The forum is held within the framework of the Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany.

The delegation including representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany, experts of such leading companies as Nickl & Partner Architekten AG, Siemens Medical Solutions, Hospital international GmbH, Senior Ekspert Serwis (SES) Programme for Central Asia, as well as world-known scientists and professors representing the leading clinics of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the RWTH Aachen University, and Robert Koch Institute arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the forum. Representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) were also invited to take part in the forum.

Over 100 heads and specialists of the government institutions and scientific and clinical centres, sanatoriums, as well as teachers of the Turkmen State Medical University represented Turkmenistan at the forum.

The first session of the forum was dedicated to the structured training to be provided to Turkmen medical workers at clinics of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, as well as within the framework of programmes of work of leading German professors in the Turkmen scientific medical centres.

The agenda of the forum focused on the prospects of cooperation in planning and design of clinics, exchange of experience in the infection control in health care facilities. Particular attention was paid to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infections in children with cancer.

Meetings between the representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany, as well as the leading German scientists and professors of medicine with teachers and students of the Turkmen State Medical University took place within the framework of the forum.
