Today, in XVII Asian Games in Inchon, the Turkmen residents gained a regular success. In the competitions of boxers in weight class up to 69 kilograms, the master of sport of international class Serdar Hudaiberdiyev won a victory in quarterfinal and reached the semifinal, having provided no less than third place on the podium.
Earlier, in the starting fight, the Turkmen boxer left no chances the bronze prize-winner of the Asian Championship of the last year Mohammad Jalal Al Assi from Jordan. Today, S. Hudaiberdiyev won a victory over experienced opponent from team of the Islamic Republic of Iran Amin Pur Gasemi.
S. Hudaiberdiyev was the winner of Asian Championship of 2009, took part in the Olympic Games-2012 in London. Now, his attainments will be replenished with a medal of Asian Games. In the semifinal to be held on October 2, the Turkmen sportsman will meet with the reigning champion of the world, winner of XVI Asian Games – 2010 in Guangzhou (China), captain of the national team of Kazakhstan Daniyar Eleusinov.
Concerning other quarterfinals with participation of the Turkmen boxers – Zarip Jumayev (up to 52 kg) and Arslanbek Achilov (up to 81 kg), it is worth metioning that they also demonstrated high level of mastery, having minimal difference in score. At that, according to the opinion of experts, A. Achilov had the most complicated fight- with the representative of the home team of Asian Games Kim Hyengkyu, who lost our sportsman after first round, but afterwards, he was able to reverse the course of meeting in his favor.
Besides, today, the Turkmen residents performed in the competitions on sport wrestling, where the representatives of free style – Ramazan Kambarov 9up to 74 kg) and Yusup Melejayev (up to 86 kg) were able to reach the quarterfinal, having provided a position in the top eight of the strongest wrestlers of Asia in their weight class.
