Turkmen teachers of foreign languages became “the students” of Herriot-Watt University in Scottish city – Edinburgh. The representatives of Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi, Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S. Seydi, International Turkmen-Turkish University as well as specialists of the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan and “Tebigy kuwwat” Social Association had two-week course of deepened professional training.
Project of one of the educational programs of the European Union on methodological assistance to teachers of foreign languages unites this whole group during nearly three years.
Educational trip included a series of training seminars, where their participants were familiarized with innovation methods of teaching the foreign languages. Within the framework of meetings, it was also held the preparation for opening at Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi of the resource center, which will keep target library with rich fund of modern educational literature for teachers of foreign languages at secondary comprehensive schools and teachers of the higher educational establishments. A part of educational materials will be presented in e-format. Essential literature on this trend of teaching will be also placed in website of the resource center of the higher educational establishment.
Direct and close familiarization with activity of the library of Herriot-Watt University, which presents unique and rich collection of literature connected with translation activity and country-specific studies, served for study of the best world experience in creation of target libraries, including in e-format.
