The eighth day of the autumn racing season took place at the equestrian sports complexes throughout the country. 94 Ahalteke horses competed in eleven rounds at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex.
Two-year-old horses competed for the Peren Prize established in honour of the renowned Ahalteke horse, the founder of one of the 17 lines of the Turkmen breed.
Peren is a direct descendant of famous Ahalteke horse Boynou. Peren won the title at the 1967 economic achievements exhibition. All horses of the Peren line are distinguished for the specific beauty. Among them are Pudak, Pyale, Galkan, Galkan-2, Pyalvan, Dagly, Pena, Saparkhan, Piyada, Khanburgut and, of course, gold sorrel Polatly. This horse of peerless beauty won the title twice and set the record in the 1600 meter race (1 min 44.8 sec). The monument in Bekreve settlement is erected to commemorate it.
Dorgonur run the 1600 metre race for 1 minute 48.4 seconds and won the Peren Prize.
