Another medal – bronze was gained by the Turkmen sportsmen in XVII Asian Paralympic Games, taking place in Inchon (Republic of Korea). This time, the success was gained by Mayagozel Pekiyeva, who reached the third step of podium in the contests on power lifting in weight class up to 73 kilograms.

Our compatriot passed ahead of the representative of the home team, but unfortunately, gave a way to the weightlifters from Thailand and Syria, who gained the first and second places correspondingly. The final result of M. Pekiyeva is 98 kg.

In the last Asian Paralympic Games held in 2010 in the capital of Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, she also won the bronze medal. In the current success of Turkmen athlete became a regular confirmation of the fact that M. Pekiyeva – one of the best masters of power lifting of Asian parts of the continent.

Another compatriot Bairamgeldi Saparov (weight class up to 88 kg), who won the seventh place with result of 175 kg, performed in the competitions on power lifting.

As was informed, the day before, in the contests on the bench press, two silver medals were gained by the Turkmen residents Valentina Simakova (up to 61 kg) and Sergey Meladze (up to 72 kg). Mekan Agalikov was in the top six best sportsmen in the category up to 59 kg.

Fight for the medals of XVII Asian Paralympic Games is going on. On October 23, our compatriot Spartak Ramazanov, who will also perform in the competitions on power lifting in weigh class up to 107 kg, will be call to the platform of Asian Games.
