One of the days of the World Martial Arts Festival, which was held in Istanbul (Turkey), brought 34 medals, including twenty two gold, five silver and seven bronze medals, to Turkmenistan team. Our compatriots gained this impressive success in the belt wrestling, kickboxing, Thai boxing and jujitsu tournaments.
The Turkmen athletes won eleven gold and one silver medals in the wrestling tournament. Shatlyk Jumanazarov, Byashim Orazov, Seidi Batyrov, Annamyrat Charyev, Rejepali Orazaliev, Allanur Gochov, Pirgulu Gurbandurdyev, Zohra Madraimova, Lachin Badaglyeva, Rano Uzakova and Nasiba Surkieva stood on the highest step of the podium. Tirkishgeldi Ayazov became the vice champion.
Our athletes’ performance at the World Martial Arts Festival was most productive, which showed that our wrestlers were in top shape for the world belt wrestling championship, which will take place in mid-November in Ashgabat.
The high level of training and professionalism allowed our kick boxers to add 9 medals, including eight gold and one silver medals, to the receptacle of Turkmenistan’s sporting achievements. Pygy Silabov, Shameret Hallyev, Ismail Ataev, Shohrat Hallyev, Allamyrat Annamyradov, Hudayguly Komekov, Shohrat Yagmyrov and Mekan Amanov won ‘gold’. Silap Silabov won ‘silver’.
The triumph at the World Martial Arts Festival, which brought together the best practitioners of martial arts from all over the world, marks the third time this year that the athletes coached by Chief Coach of Turkmenistan kickboxing team, Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan Aleksander Snagovskiy have successfully performed in the international sport arena. This year, they have won two gold, four silver and two bronze medals in the international tournament in Kazakhstan and the Diamond Cup in Russia.
Our athletes’ performance in the Thai boxing tournament in Istanbul was not less brilliant. They won five medals, including two gold medals of Nurgeldy Ataev and Sevar Yakubov and three bronze medals of Resul Arashov, Bairamguly Bagshiev and Resul Byashimov.
Serdar Hojamuhammedov brought a gold medal, Yusuf Atamuradov, Zohra Madraimova and Lachin Badaglyeva brought three silver medals and Ahmet Tanyrberdiev, Jovlanbek Madaminov, Charymyrat Annagurbanov and Rahmet Taganov brought four bronze medals in the jujitsu tournaments to the receptacle of awards of Turkmenistan team. Our team gained a total of 42 awards, 22 of which are of the highest value.
