A meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium in Turkmenistan, Ms Carine Petit was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Belgian diplomat, who participated in the celebrations in honour of the 23rd anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, noted the impressive achievements of our country in implementing the society oriented domestic policy and the constructiveness of the foreign policy strategy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with such key aspects as positive neutrality and broad international cooperation in the name of global peace, security and sustainable development.
Calling upon to build up Turkmen-Belgian cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within Turkmenistan-European Union partnership as well as major international organisations – the UN and the OSCE, the participants focused on the importance of closer contacts, in particular between foreign ministries of the two countries. Emphasis was also placed on the existing potential for deepening and expanding fruitful relations in the trade, economic, fuel and energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
During her visit to Ashgabat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium was received at Mejlis, where an exchange of views on various aspects of collaboration, including the intensification of inter-parliamentary relations, took place.
