Hockey tournament among juniors born in 1997-1998, where “Galkan” team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan won the confident victory, has completed on the ice arena of Ashgabat Winter Sports Complex. In the course of round-robin system, the athletes of Bairam Allayarov won every match, having shown 100-percent result.
Competitions, where teams “Oguzkhan” of “Turkmengas” State Concern, “Shir” of the Ministry of Trade and foreign-economic ties, “Burgut” of the sports school of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for sports and “Alp Arslan” belonging to several ministries took part in, were organized with a view of selection of the best sportsmen for the youth national team.
From November 15 to 29, the Turkmen hockey players will take part in the international team practice session to be held in ice arenas of Minsk Sport Complex “Ratomka” (Republic of Belarus). Our compatriots will improve their mastery under guidance of the leading Byelorussian coaches to prepare for the international competitions in 2015, including for the third Cup of the President of Turkmenistan in hockey.
Winter kinds of sport gained rapid development in our country owing to the attention of the nation leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Within the shortest period of time, the Turkmen hockey players proved that the game of “real men” has great prospects in our country. Successful performances at the international-level tournaments are vivid evidence of this fact.
Sport observers note that potential of Turkmen hockey school is high. They can prove this fact in the tournaments held at the international level. So, besides the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan, our junior team prepares for the international tournament “Gold puck” to be held in March of the next year in the capital of Belarus – Minsk as well as a series of other international contests.
Turning to the national tournament, it is worth mentioning that main fight for “silver” expanded between athletes of Gurgen Kurbanov from “Oguzkhan” team and sportsmen of Rovshen Kelemjayev from “Shir”. In point of fact, the fate of the second place was decided in the first round during meeting of these teams, where difficult but beautiful victory was gained by team of “Turkmengas” State Concern. “Shir” team won the third place.
