According to President of the Olympic Council of Asia sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah, the OCA accepted Turkmenistan's suggestion on including two other sports – horse riding (show jumping) and Turkmen national wrestling goresh – in the V Asian Games programme that will be held in Ashgabat in 2017.

As was reported during the signing ceremony of Memorandum on participation of the countries of Oceania in the Asian Games – 2017, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov offered to include equestrian sport (show jumping) and Turkmen national wrestling “goresh” into the list of 19 kinds of sports of Asian Games in Ashgabat.

According to this document, together with 45 National Olympic Committees – members of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), 17 Oceania National Olympic Committees will participate for the first time in the Asian Games in 2017.

The OCA President also informed that a meeting of the OCA Coordination Committee would be held in Ashgabat in February, 2015.
