The first meeting of international expert group has completed in the Turkmen capital. Its agenda included the issues related to the elaboration of complex international and legal document, covering various aspects of global energy cooperation.
The representatives of UN in Turkmenistan, employees of Secretariat of Energy Charter, international organizations and agencies, governmental authorities of foreign countries and Turkmenistan, international experts took part in the work of expert group. Within the framework of two-day meeting, particular attention was paid to the discussion of issues on improvement of available mechanisms of international cooperation in energy sphere, determination of accurate and transparent principles of the activity of the states on the international energy markets.
In particular, during discussions, it was considered the juridical aspects of regulation of mutually beneficial relations between producing countries, transiting countries and consumers of energy resources, efficient measures on security of investments in transnational pipeline infrastructure and other issues.
Summing up the meetings, the participants of international expert group adopted a Declaration, having declared for further advancement of the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on elaboration under the aegis of the UNO of multisided and complex document, which will provide accurate regulation of whole set of rights and obligations of the manufacturers and consumers of energy resources taking into account the generally acknowledged norms of modern international law and experience accumulated in this field by the states and international organizations.
