The Turkmen wrestlers won two gold and one bronze medals of the U17 International Junior Freestyle Tournament in Vitebsk. The athletes from various regions of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine participated in the competitions.
The Turkmen sportsmen K. Hojakov and Sh. Begjanov ranked the first in the international tournament.
K. Hojakov, who competed with 20 athletes in the under 54-kg category, gained five victories. Sh. Begjanov gained four victories in the under 58-kg category and won the gold medal, the prize and the diploma “For the best freestyle wrestling technique”. 16 athletes competed in this category.
B. Yarmamedov won the bronze medal in the under 63-kg category. 15 athletes competed in this category.
The three winners coached by Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan R. Rustamov are the students of the Olimp sports school.
These days the young free-style wrestlers are preparing for the Asian Championships, which will be held in Bishkek this summer.
