The Open Mini Football Championships organized by the National Special Olympics Centre of Turkmenistan was held at the sports complex in Abadan. The tournament took place in the framework of the European Football Week which is held every year. The teams of the Special Olympics boarding schools from Turkmenbashi town (Balkan Velayat), Turkmenabat (Lebap Velayat), Mary (Mary Velayat) and host team participated in the competitions.

This sporting event was organized with the assistance of the Abadan Khyakimlik, the sports complex and sports school and the partners and sponsors of the National Special Olympics Centre.

Nobody lost in these competitions because the motto of all the Special Olympics tournaments is “Not the victory but the action”. The host team ranked the first, the sportsmen from Turkmenbashi took the second place, the footballers from Turkmenabat took the third place and the team of Mary Velayat ranked the fourth.

Diplomas and valuable prizes were presented to the winners and all the participants on behalf of the National Special Olympics Centre Turkmenistan, the Children’s Fund of Turkmenistan and the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan.
