The First Thai Boxing Championship of Turkmenistan finished at the Galkynysh sports centre in Ashgabat. Athletes competed for 13 sets of medals, one of which was intended for juniors.
As for the main participants in the tournament, the main contenders for gold medals were athletes from Ashgabat and Dashoguz. Representatives of these cities performed in ten men’s and two women’s finals. The sportsmen from Ashgabat were the best of all; they won 11 first places: Resul Arashov (under 54 kg), Rustem Bairamdurdyev (under 60 kg), Nurgeldy Ataev (under 63.5 kg), Mustafa Saparmuradov (under 67 kg), Muhammedberdi Rovshenov (under 71 kg), Nurmammet Tekaev (under 75 kg), Anvar Haidov (under 81 kg), Rasul Rasulov (under 91 kg), Yalkapberdi Tejenov (over 91 kg), Aigul Atadurdyeva (under 60 kg) and Aida Annamammedova (under 71 kg).
The team from Dashoguz Velayat won one first place: the winner is Orazmuhammed Muradov (under 57 kg).
The winners in the First Thai Boxing Championship of Turkmenistan will be included in the national team of Turkmenistan that will perform in the World Championship, which will take place in Iran on February 20-24.
