At the school of young Olympic competitors, it was held a celebration in honor of sportsmen, who won the first for Turkmenistan the medals of all ranks at the international junior tournament-examination on short-track speed skating (one of the types of skating) taken place in the Korean city Phenchan.
Sport courses on speed skating on so-called short track, which forestalled artlessly the competitions on this kind of sports, were held within the framework of preparation for the Winter Olympic Games to be held in 2018 in Republic of Korea.
Three sportsmen represented our country and all of them returned Motherland with medals. Competitions were conducted in the distance of 500 meters. The gold award in the composition of the Turkmen team was gained by Pena Atayev, who overcame one-kilometer-long section within 55.13 seconds.
“Silver” success was attained by Sakina Gulamaliyeva, and Kuvatmurad Agamuradov raised the third step of the podium.
All three young masters of short-track speed skating are the pupils of the School of young Olympic competitors, where they train under guidance of Ayhanum Gulamaliyeva.
