Tournament on ice hockey devoted to the upcoming significant date – the State Flag Day of Turkmenistan started in Ashgabat. Eight teams, which were divided into two groups, take part in the tournament.
Ice arenas of the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Winter Sports Complex became the venue of tournament.
Tournament was opened with match, where favorite of the current competitions, the reigning champion of Turkmenistan “Galkan” and “Watanchi” have met. Match was held at average speed and mainly on one half of the field. As this result, the hockey players from team of MIA kicked nine unreciprocated pucks.
But, in the next match – between “Oguzhan” and “Alp Arslan”, the forward of “Oguzhan” was able to strike four times the goal of opponents. The final score of this match – 10:1 in favor of silver prizewinners of the last year’s International tournament for the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan.
Owner of gold medals of various international competitions – “Shir” club also distinguished with confident victory, which won a victory over “Burgut” team with a score of 18 goals to three.
The fourth match with participation of “Nesil” and “Merdana” teams was very effective. The final score was 22:2 in favor of the team of the Institute of MIA.
On February 11, it will be held the matches of the second round of group competitions. As it is expected, the sharp fight will expand in the match of two leaders – “Galkan” and “Oguzhan”, who will meet at 13:00 on the ice arena of Sports Complex of the Institute of MIA.
