At the Wushu Championship of the Western Asia held in Zahedan (Islamic Republic of Iran), the Turkmen sportsmen won two silver and four bronze medals in the discipline “sanda” (combats).
Teams from 13 countries –Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and others took part in the competitions. At the Championship, our country was represented by eight Wushu athletes. Six of them became the prizewinners of the championship.
During competitions, it was also held the constituent conference of Wushu Federation of Asia, where the creation of the united Wushu Federation of the Central and Western Asia became main issue of the agenda. Chairman of Wushu Federation of Turkmenistan Y. Annamyradov also became the member of executive committee of new international sport organization.
