Turkmenistan-Austria Business Forum that brought together representatives of government agencies and business structures of the two countries took place in Ashgabat. The forum agenda focused on the prospects of development of the bilateral cooperation, establishments of new contacts and plans for further cooperation.
Forum participants noted that the main aim of the forum was to get acquainted with the economic potential of Turkmenistan, strengthen and establish effective long-term relations with the representatives of the private sector of the national economy as well as to demonstrate the opportunities of over 30 Austrian companies.
Confirming the willingness for further enhancement of mutually beneficial partnership with representatives of foreign business circles, including the Republic of Austria, those speaking during the forum noted that all necessary conditions were created in the country to ensure successful business development, in particular improvement of the national legislation and stimulation of the investment activity. Emphasizing that a positive experience of foreign trade relations with EU countries, including the Republic of Austria, was gained in recent years, the forum participants focused on the existence of favourable conditions for intensification of bilateral relations.
The guests were informed on the development of the private sector of the national economy of Turkmenistan that plays a significant role in the strategy implemented by the Turkmen leader.
The members of the Austrian delegation expressed a keen interest of the business circles of Austria in enhancing fruitful contacts with Turkmenistan that demonstrates fast paces of economic development these days. Expressing their readiness to take an active part in the implementation of large-scale national projects, Austrian businessmen put forward a number of specific proposals for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres.
